Oyster Boys’ Debut EP [Laughing Aah~]

From “Noctilucent Butterfly,” the Reggae song that sings about the crazy city night to “Whatever You” that caresses people’s mind that waits for somebody while being soaked in rain, Oyster Boys’ EP [Laughing Aah~] swims about in all the emotions of boys and girls. With the touch of psychedelic rock, groovy reggae, and the rock/pop from America, Britain and Korea, Oyster Boys have combined all and generated something of their own in their EP album. [Laughing Aah~] includes all musical elements faithful to each genre and yet hard to label into one category.

Formed in 2003, Oyster Boys have been performing mostly at Club Bbang and in the winter of 2006, they have decided to produce the first EP with Electric Muse. Members, including 김원구(vocal, guitar), 김동현(bass, chorus), 김혜린(keyboard, chorus), 정신우(drum, programming, chorus), have chosen 5 songs from their work and started recording at the studio.

김원구, who had been the engineer at Club Bbang, took over recording & mixing, as well as producer position for the EP, and as it was the band’s first album, [Laughing Aah~] expresses both agitation and devotion. Maybe it is because of these unique expressions that Oyster Boys’ music is so attractive even when the sound is not quite complete.

Oyster took part in various festivals and concerts along with the release of their EP
