about

After releasing the debut album [Songbags of the Plastic People], Plastic People had been regularly performing at Club Bbang and at Freemarket in Hongdae, and received positive response for their “fairy-tale-like modern rock sound with delicate sensitivity.” Following the second EP [Travelling in the Blue] in 2004, they have released their second studio album [Folk, Ya!].
Plastic People has shown diverse styles of indie rock and folk rock through the tracks like “Love Song at the Crossroads,” “The Incomprehensible Taste of Coffee,” and “3 pm.” For the second studio album [Folk, Ya!], Plastic People has self-recorded and self-produced the album at their home label Electric Muse. In the album, the members Min Kyu Kim (Guitar, vocal) and Ju Mi Yoon (Drum, vocal) participated as well as Sung Hwan Chung (Bass from Dabang Band), Jae Han Ahn (Guitar), Joo Hyun Yoon (Drum), Eun Ho Doh (Bass) as session musicians.

Plastic People’s second album [Folk, Ya!] has a hearty song <Airport Man and Woman>, Plastic People-esque rock n’ roll <Pitapat> and <Following the Cloud>, acoustically arranged <수도국산> and <A Ritual for Rain>; all fourteen songs include everyday life that Plastic People imagines.
The song <Airport Man and Woman> represents the episode of the same title in the Omnibus movie “One Shining Day,” released in 2005. The story tells us of a girl, Gony, who wishes to escape from the daily routine from the airport. (The music video of the song also comprises various scenes from the episode of the movie)
The song <수도국산> presents the images of Korea’s first hillside slums and portrays the immigrants from abroad living in the outskirts of the city.
Singing as if strolling through the everyday life and imagination, Plastic People released the second album [Folk, Ya!] and performed on various shows around Hongdae area.
